مطرح ليس مجرد حيٍّ في مسقط — هو حيث تبدأ رائحة البحر قبل أن تصل إلى البحر. رسمتُ هذه اللوحة وأنا أفكر في هذا المكان بكل ما يحمله: السوق، الكورنيش، القنصل البريطاني، والضوء الذي لا يشبه ضوء أي مكان آخر.

أسلوبي الانطباعي لا يوثّق المكان كما تفعل الكاميرا — بل يحفظ الإحساس به. المشاهد لا يرى مطرح كما هو، يشعر بما شعرتُ به أنا حين كنتُ هناك.

Mutrah is not just a neighbourhood in Muscat — it is where the scent of the sea begins before you reach the water. I painted this piece thinking of everything this place holds: the souq, the corniche, the British Consulate, and a light that exists nowhere else.

My impressionist approach does not document a place the way a photograph does — it preserves the feeling of being there. The viewer does not see Mutrah as it is; they feel what I felt when I stood in it.
